PRAYER POEM<\/div>\n

Not forsaken<\/h3>\n

\u2018For he has not despised or scorned the suffering of the afflicted one; he has not hidden his face from him but has listened to his cry for help.\u2019<\/em> (Psalm 22:24)<\/p>\n

My God, my God,
\nthough others scorn me,
\nabhor or ignore me,
\nI am not forsaken,
\nfor you have not forsaken me.<\/p>\n

With you
\nthere is no push back, no repelling,
\nno turning away in horror or distaste.
\nMy God, my God,
\na bruised reed you will not break.<\/p>\n

With you
\nthe lowborn are not loathsome;
\nthe afflicted ones you don\u2019t despise.
\nMy God, my God,
\nI offer my broken spirit as my sacrifice.<\/p>\n

With you
\nscorn is shamed by a radical welcome
\nfor you favour the lowly things of the world.
\nMy God, my God,
\nI praise you, for I am seen and I am heard.
